Last night, October 17 (on Rhonda's birthday), at 9:40 p.m. Charis Joy Nicholes was born to Mike and Alicia at the Boondang Cheil hospital just south of Seoul Korea. She weighed 2.9 killograms (6.4 lbs), and 49 centemeters (19 in). Grandma and Grandpa Nicholes arrive tomorrow evening at 5:00pm. Mike reports, "Alicia's labor started around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. By the time we arrived at the hospital at 9:00 p.m. Alicia's contractions were between 2-4 minutes a part but Charis was still breech. At that point the doctors made a decision to do a C-section. They numbed Alicia from the waist down so she could see Charis come out. We were glad that the Spaldings (new missionaries with Word of Life Korea) were on hand to take care of Michaela and they were the first ones to the hospital this morning to see God's big grace in a little package (Charis comes from the Greek meaning Grace). We praise God for His grace in

our lives that has brought so much Joy. T
